Happy black Friday everyone!
Yesterday was a wonderful day. I missed my family a little though. It was the first holiday I haven't been with them but it was equally as enjoyable.
Philip's family has a Thanksgiving lunch, which means that instead of having a feast at dinner time they eat their meal at 1:00pm. Surprisingly, I liked this a lot better. After we ate our fill of delicious turkey, squash casserole, cranberry sauce (made from real cranberries and no added sugar), yams, mashed potatoes and green beans Jenny, Philip's sister-in-law, and I helped his Mom clean up the kitchen. Jenny is married to one of Philip's older brothers Peter. P.S. they are AWESOME! Jenny and Peter have two beautiful labradors, Oscar and Max, who they brought to Thanksgiving with them. I noticed that everyone was looking on the sleepy side, no doubt from the filling meal and of course the turkey, so I suggested that we all take a little walk with the dogs. A group of us walked up to the local park and decided to play around on the playground.
That's Philip trying to be Spiderman. He is such a cutie!
After the park we spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying each others company back at Philip's parents house. Later on in the night the bored games where broken out, which is apparently a Thanksgiving tradition for them. We spent the next 3 hours playing Tripoli and eating turkey sandwiches. I had never played Tripoli before and I honestly can say that I have never had so much fun playing a bored game with 8 people as I did last night.
Thanksgiving was a great day.
I realized the things that I am most thankful for too. Some of those things include; a loving family who I didn't get to see yesterday and I honestly can say that it was a good thing though because it made me realize how much I really do love my family, I realized how lucky I am to be in good health and that I have a handful of real good friends.
